Wolcen Studio has revealed Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat RPG blending the high-stakes tension of extraction shooter mechanics with the dynamic battles of classic RPGs. A closed alpha test kicks off January 25th for European players, followed by North American players on February 1st.
"We've combined the risk-reward of extraction shooters with the engaging combat of RPGs," explains game director Andrei Cirkulete. Drawing inspiration from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov, Project Pantheon offers a unique gameplay experience. The developers eagerly anticipate player feedback.
Players assume the role of a Death's messenger, striving to restore order to a shattered world. They'll face off against AI and other players across diverse maps. Successful evacuations preserve hard-earned trophies, while failed attempts result in the loss of all loot.
The game features extensive character customization, base building, and diverse playstyles. Inspired by world mythologies, the game's economy is built upon player trading.
The initial adventure unfolds in "Destiny's Edge," a region evocative of Scandinavian legends. Despite being in early alpha, Wolcen Studio plans to actively engage the community to shape the game's development.
