Initially launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. The Kardboard Kings Experience:
Players step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his father's card shop. His father was a renowned card collector and Warlock champion. Harry's journey involves navigating the exciting world of buying, selling, and trading cards.
He receives unexpected assistance from Giuseppe, a quick-witted cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot profitable deals. This feathered business partner proves to be surprisingly insightful.
The seaside location adds charm to the gameplay. Harry must satisfy customers, but he also has the option to engage in some playful price gouging for extra profit.
The game boasts charming characters, witty dialogue, and references to other card games and anime. Over 100 unique cards feature quirky illustrations, including special shiny variants.
Gameplay Mechanics:
The core gameplay is simple: buy low, sell high, and maximize profits. However, as the game progresses, card conditions and set rarities fluctuate. Factors like foil finishes and card popularity impact value.
