HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero boasts a diverse and unique cast of characters, each with distinct personalities and mechanics that can synergize to form powerful teams. In games where combat is central, players often seek to identify the top performers. This ZZZ tier list ranks all the characters from the 1.0 version of Zenless Zone Zero.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists in games with frequent character updates evolve with the meta. For instance, Grace was a top-tier Agent at ZZZ's launch due to her Anomaly-building prowess. However, with the introduction of more Anomaly units, her relevance has diminished, especially with the rise of the overpowered Anomaly character, Miyabi. This Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been updated to reflect the current meta and character rankings.

S-Tier

S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in their roles and synergize exceptionally well with others.

Miyabi

Miyabi stands out as one of the premier characters in ZZZ, thanks to her rapid Frost attacks and high damage output. While she requires some setup, mastering her pattern allows her to dominate the battlefield.

Jane Doe

Jane Doe surpasses Piper in ZZZ with her ability to critically hit with Assault Anomaly, significantly boosting her damage. Despite the slower pace of Anomaly compared to pure DPS, Jane Doe's powerful Assault capabilities secure her an S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Yanagi

Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without needing to apply Shock on top of another Anomaly. As long as an enemy is affected by any Anomaly, Yanagi can easily trigger Disorder, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.

Zhu Yuan

Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, delivering swift damage with her Shotshells. She synergizes well with Stun and Support characters, particularly Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1, who enhance her Ether damage and reduce enemy DEF.

Caesar

Caesar redefines the Defense Agent role with exceptional protection, buffs, and debuffs. Her Impact scaling allows for easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control abilities make her a leader in the support tier list.

Qingyi

Qingyi is a versatile Stunner, fitting seamlessly into any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup through Basic Attack spam, combined with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, make her a standout, though she doesn't outshine Lycaon in Ellen's team.

Lighter

Lighter, a Stun Agent with significant buffs, excels with Fire and Ice characters. His compatibility with powerful units in these elements secures his high ranking in the ZZZ tier list.

Lycaon

Lycaon, an Ice unit with a Stun-focused combat style, relies on charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to apply Ice and Daze. His ability to reduce enemies' Ice resistance and boost allies' Daze DMG makes him essential for any Ice team in Zenless Zone Zero.

Ellen

Ellen, an Attack Agent who leverages the Ice element, synergizes exceptionally well with Lycaon and Soukaku. Her powerful hits, especially EX Special Attacks and Ultimates, make her a top-tier choice in ZZZ.

Harumasa

Harumasa, an S-Rank Electric-Attack Agent once given for free, requires specific conditions to unleash his potent attacks, making him a valuable asset in Zenless Zone Zero.

Soukaku

Soukaku is a strong Support in Zenless Zone Zero, primarily functioning as a buffer who can build Ice Anomaly on enemies. Her synergy with other Ice units like Ellen or Lycaon enhances their performance, making her one of the best buffers in the game.

Rina

As a Support, Rina not only deals significant damage but also provides PEN to her allies, allowing them to bypass enemy defenses. Her ability to build Shock Anomaly and buff Shock reactions makes her a crucial ally for Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in specific combos and are generally strong in their roles.

Nicole

Nicole is a valuable Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of pulling enemies into energy fields, which benefits AoE units like Nekomata. She also shreds enemy DEF and boosts team Ether DMG, though her support is less effective for non-Ether DPS units.

Seth

Seth excels as a shielder and support but doesn't match the top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche in supporting Anomaly DPS makes him less versatile than ATK buffers, which are beneficial even in Anomaly teams.

Lucy

Lucy, a Support unit, deals off-field damage and provides a significant ATK% buff to the team for up to 15 seconds. Her DPS potential increases when synergizing with another character to activate her Additional Ability.

Piper

Piper's gameplay revolves around her powerful EX Special Attack, which triggers Assault and builds Physical Anomaly. Her effectiveness increases when paired with other Anomaly units to consistently trigger Disorder.

Grace

Grace is a strong Anomaly character in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of quickly Shocking enemies for continuous damage. While she remains relevant, the influx of new Anomaly Agents has pushed her down the tier list.

Koleda

Koleda is a reliable Fire/Stun character, swiftly building enemies' Daze. Her synergy with Ben enhances her movesets, making her a versatile addition to any team, especially those with other Fire characters.

Anby

Anby is valued for her comedic timing in story quests and reliable Stun capabilities in combat. Her quick combos are effective, though she's easily interrupted compared to other Stun Agents like Qingyi, Lycaon, and Koleda.

Soldier 11

Soldier 11 is straightforward to play, dealing significant damage with her Fire-infused Basic Attacks. Her mechanics are simple, making her a fun challenge for players looking to master her.

B-Tier

B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero offer value but are outshone by others in their roles.

Ben

Ben, the only defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0, is fun to play with his parry and punish mechanics. However, his slow combat and limited team benefits, aside from a Crit Rate buff, make him less desirable than mastering dodging.

Nekomata

Nekomata, an Attack unit, deals significant AoE damage but relies heavily on her team for optimal performance. Her Physical element and faction limit her synergy options, though future updates may improve her standing.

C-Tier

C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to no value.

Corin

Corin, an Attack character dealing Physical damage, excels at continuous extended slash damage to Stunned enemies. However, she is outclassed by Nekomata and Piper, who offer better Physical damage and Anomaly application.

Billy

Billy, an Attack character, is effective in quick-swap teams with his Chain Attacks. However, his damage output is lower compared to other DPS characters, even within the Physical Attack category.

Anton

Anton's Core Skill allows for continuous Shock damage, but his overall DPS is lacking. As a single-target Electric unit, he struggles to compete with other DPS characters in Zenless Zone Zero.
