Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Lineup: A Snowy Start and a Strong Finish
Xbox Game Pass is kicking off 2025 with a flurry of new titles, starting with the day-one release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders on January 21st for Ultimate subscribers. While the first half of January saw a relatively quiet addition of new games, the second half promises a much more substantial update.
Initially, the January 2025 Game Pass additions were met with some criticism for their limited scope, primarily focusing on tier shifts rather than new releases. However, the addition of Diablo to PC Game Pass and EA Sports UFC 5 to the Ultimate tier provided some initial excitement.
The arrival of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders on its release date marks a significant addition. This cooperative and PvP-enabled skiing game will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers upon launch.

The second half of January sees a significant boost, with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2 all launching as day-one Game Pass titles. Of particular note is Eternal Strands, an action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games with a strong Zelda influence, developed by a BioWare veteran.
Looking ahead to February, the lineup is currently less defined. While Avowed is confirmed for February 18th (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate), the remainder of the month's offerings remain unannounced.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy the exciting new additions in January, providing ample gaming opportunities while awaiting further announcements for February 2025.
