Xbox Developer Direct 2025: A Sneak Peek at Upcoming Titles
Microsoft has announced the third annual Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, 2025. This showcase will be the first Xbox game event of the new year, continuing the tradition established in 2023 and 2024. The event will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
Confirmed Games:
The showcase has already confirmed three exciting titles:
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: The latest installment in the iconic Doom franchise from id Software. A demo was playable at QuakeCon 2024, and a mid-2025 launch is rumored.
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Canada), the creators of Contrast and We Happy Few. Announced in June 2023, a release date is still pending but may be revealed during the Direct.
More Than Just Three Games?
While these three titles are confirmed, past Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple games. The 2024 event highlighted Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. It's highly likely that the 2025 event will hold further unannounced surprises.
