Gaijin Entertainment has announced the upcoming Firebirds update for War Thunder, arriving in early November. This major update introduces a host of new aircraft, ground vehicles, and warships, significantly expanding the game's content.
New Aircraft: A Trio of Powerhouses
The Firebirds update boasts several iconic additions to the War Thunder skies. Players can expect to pilot the stealthy American F-117A Nighthawk, the versatile Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the powerful American F-15E Strike Eagle.
The F-117A Nighthawk represents a first for War Thunder – its stealth technology, incorporating radar-absorbing materials and a unique design to deflect radar waves, making it a formidable opponent. Its real-world success in Operation Desert Storm, completing over 1,200 sorties without loss, speaks volumes about its effectiveness.
The F-15E Strike Eagle, on the other hand, emphasizes sheer firepower. This enhanced F-15 variant boasts a significantly increased payload, incorporating a ground-target detection radar and a wide array of weaponry, from Maverick missiles and laser-guided bombs to JDAMs and even the GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (20 at a time!).
Beyond the Skies: Ground and Naval Additions
The Firebirds update isn't limited to aircraft. New ground forces include the British FV107 Scimitar light tank, and the French battleship Dunkerque strengthens the naval fleet.
Aces High Season Continues
The current Aces High season offers further opportunities to acquire unique vehicles, trophies, and rewards through season completion and Battle Pass progression. This includes aircraft like the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, along with tanks such as the T54E2 and G6, and ships including the HMS Orion and USS Billfish.
