NieR: Automata features a wide array of enemies, many of which drop valuable materials for upgrading your pod and weapons. While most materials are acquired naturally during gameplay, some, like Warped Wire, require targeted farming. This guide pinpoints an efficient location for acquiring Warped Wire.
Farming Warped Wire in NieR: Automata
Warped Wire is a rare drop from stacked bipedal machines. These enemies are uncommon, but concentrated in a specific area. The most reliable farming spot is accessible via the Desert Camp fast travel point.
Head towards the main desert, but before reaching the open expanse, you'll traverse mountainous terrain alongside a pipe, passing some ruins. This section contains multiple clusters of stacked bipedal machines. Two small clearings near destroyed buildings are ideal farming locations; all machines in these areas are the stacked variant. Warped Wire has a reasonable drop rate, typically yielding one or two per clearing. Equipping a Drop Rate Up plug-in chip significantly accelerates this process.
To expedite farming, employ these respawn methods:
- Fast Travel: Fast travel to another location, then return to Desert Camp to trigger enemy respawns. This is considerably faster than the alternative.
- Run Away and Return: Moving a significant distance away and returning will also respawn enemies, but this method is less efficient due to the travel time.
Investing in drop rate increase chips is highly recommended. Many upgrade materials are machine drops, and similar farming strategies are frequently needed for weapon upgrades. Movement speed chips, while offering only minor time savings here, prove beneficial for completing the game's race side quests.
