Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, and you'll notice a golden banner next to "The Battle of Changban." This signifies an alternate scenario.
The standard mission involves helping Liu Bei escape while Zhang Fei defends the Changban Bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao instead of facilitating Liu Bei's retreat. This is a challenging "one against many" battle, requiring you to single-handedly overcome Cao Cao's forces. Failure to defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei falls necessitates a mission restart.
To increase your chances of success:

Reduce the difficulty: Switch to Historian mode to make the battle more manageable. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier task on a lower difficulty.

Choose Zhang Fei as your partner: Starting closer to Cao Cao's army saves valuable time and reduces the initial trek across the map.

Utilize Musou Rage: Be prepared to unleash your Musou Rage when Cao Cao's army deploys its Grand Tactics (defeating two officers and 250 soldiers). A weapon like twin pikes is recommended for efficiently eliminating large numbers of soldiers.
Once Cao Cao is defeated, a few additional missions remain before the true Shu ending is revealed.
