Following Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, this latest installment throws Spider-Man into the fray. Set in a retro 1980s setting, shortly after Secret Wars and Peter Parker's acquisition of the alien symbiote, the story finds Spidey facing his toughest challenge yet. He'll need every bit of his newfound power to save the city from the King of the Monsters.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 is penned by Joe Kelly (the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man relaunch), illustrated by Nick Bradshaw (Wolverine and the X-Men), and features cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.
"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped across the table to claim it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This book lets us go wild with two iconic characters, capturing the chaotic energy of that era. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity and vibe, while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his… ahem… black suit) the respect they deserve. It's a love letter delivered with an earth-shattering roar!"
While DC recently published Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel on the way), this Marvel series features the classic Toho Godzilla, not the MonsterVerse iteration. This announcement also follows the reveal of IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, a charity anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 stomps onto the scene April 30, 2025. For more on upcoming comics, check out our previews of Marvel and DC's 2025 releases.
