Revue Starlight Re LIVE Ends Collection of Stage Girls With EOS Update

Revue Starlight Re LIVE: Curtain Call on September 30th

The mobile game, Revue Starlight Re LIVE, based on the popular anime, is officially shutting down its servers on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. After nearly six years on Android, this chapter of the Revue Starlight story will conclude.

Reasons for the Shutdown: A Retrospective

While not entirely unexpected, the announcement of Revue Starlight Re LIVE's end-of-service (EOS) is still bittersweet. The game, a direct continuation of the anime's narrative, featured a strategic battle system and visually appealing 3D graphics and Live2D animations. However, consistent player feedback points to declining performance over the past few years. Factors contributing to this include repetitive events, reused assets, and costly battle passes. Furthermore, narrative choices, such as the abrupt storyline shift, also negatively impacted the game's reception. The shutdown affects the game globally, including Japan.

A Final Bow: Farewell Events and Opportunities

Despite the impending closure, players still have several weeks to enjoy the game. Developers are launching several farewell campaigns throughout August and September. A "Thank You For Everything" campaign offers ten free pulls daily, and a two-month birthday celebration event is underway, featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events at the start of each month. For those interested in a final experience, the game is still available on the Google Play Store.
