Path of Exile 2's bustling trade chat frequently features high demand for White Stellar Amulets, often fetching 10 to 15 Exalted Orbs. This significant value might puzzle many players. The high price reflects either a direct need for the amulet in specific builds or its potential for conversion into a more valuable item. Let's break down the reasons behind this demand.
Why are White Stellar Amulets so Valuable in Path of Exile 2?
Normal (white) Stellar Amulets, possessing only the inherent "+# to All Attributes" modifier, serve as the key ingredient for crafting the
Astramentis Stellar Amulet, one of the game's most prized Unique Amulets. This transformation is achieved using an
Orb of Chance.
Astramentis' exceptional power stems from its massive attribute boost (+80-120 to All Attributes). This synergizes perfectly with the Hand of Wisdom and Action Furtive Wraps, another highly sought-after Unique item, enhancing attack speed and lightning damage based on Intelligence and Dexterity.
Crucially, only white Stellar Amulets can yield Astramentis. Magic (blue) or Rare (yellow) amulets won't work, making normal Stellar Amulets far more valuable than their upgraded counterparts.
Sell or Gamble? The White Stellar Amulet Dilemma
The odds of successfully obtaining Astramentis with an Orb of Chance are incredibly low. Even using a large number of amulets (e.g., 100) doesn't guarantee success. While luck can play a role, the chances are slim.
The choice of selling or gambling with your White Stellar Amulets is entirely yours. Selling them guarantees a return of 10-30 Exalted Orbs (depending on market fluctuations), while gambling offers a high-risk, high-reward scenario. It's a personal decision based on your risk tolerance.
Using the Orb of Chance for Astramentis in PoE 2
To attempt this gamble, place the normal Stellar Amulet in your inventory, right-click the Orb of Chance, and left-click the amulet. Possible outcomes include:
- Amulet destruction.
- Upgrade to a unique sharing the same base. For Stellar Amulets, two possibilities exist:
Astramentis (the highly desirable outcome)
Fixation of Yix (a less valuable alternative)
The more common outcome, if the gamble succeeds, is Fixation of Yix. Remember, failure results in amulet destruction.
