The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez leads the pack with a record-breaking 13 nominations – the most ever for a non-English language film. Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live stream on the Oscars YouTube channel.

Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, is a major contender, vying for Best Picture, Best Director (Audiard himself), and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón). Wicked and The Brutalist follow closely with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown received eight nominations apiece.

The 97th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Broadcast details include ABC (U.S.), ITV (UK), and over 200 other territories worldwide. For the first time, the ceremony will also be streamed live on Hulu.
