Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have announced the return of their flagship titles for the 2025 edition. Garena's Free Fire was among the first, and now Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has also confirmed its participation.

The 2024 tournament featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants claimed victory in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress triumphed in the Women's Invitational, ending Team Vitality's impressive 25-game winning streak.

A Significant, Yet Secondary, Event?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear set to return. However, many of the featured competitions aren't considered major championships. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for example, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary focus. This is a double-edged sword. It prevents the EWC from overshadowing established leagues, but it could also be perceived as a secondary tournament.

Regardless, fans of these games will undoubtedly welcome their return to this prestigious competition.
