Get Ready for Sonic Mania! Sega Unveils Exciting Mobile Game Updates Tied to the New Movie
With the highly anticipated release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 just around the corner, Sega is treating fans to a wave of thrilling updates across its popular Sonic mobile game lineup. From Apple Arcade's Sonic Dream Team to Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces (available on the App Store and Google Play), these updates deliver fresh content directly inspired by the upcoming film.
First up, Sonic Forces receives a major update on December 12th, introducing a brand-new Metro-city Zone. This addition boasts three challenging tracks, letting you race as Movie Shadow, Movie Sonic, and other familiar characters. Complete these levels before heading to the cinema for the ultimate movie tie-in experience!
Next, on December 18th, Sonic Dream Team gets a boost with the addition of Shadow as a playable character, complete with unique abilities. Unlock him by tackling the Tails’ Challenges. Shadow's Chaos Control and Chaos Shift powers allow for time manipulation, freezing enemies and the environment to conquer objectives.
This update also expands gameplay options for all characters with new powers like Quick Grind and Perfect Boost. Shadow receives exclusive upgrades, including Double Chaos Shift, further enhancing his abilities. Six new Shadow-themed statues and music tracks are included, along with a revamped tutorial for new players.

Rounding out the updates, Sonic Dash launches its update on December 20th, offering players the chance to collect cards and unlock Movie Shadow and Movie Sonic. Daily collectibles provide additional rewards. Sonic Dash+ on Apple Arcade will follow in January with its own Shadow-themed updates.
