Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak Hints at Free 4-Star Character Selector
A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, likely part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.
This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. While the game boasts a roster of 23 4-star characters, many haven't achieved high meta status, requiring significant Eidolon investment to become truly effective. Previous updates, like Versions 2.1 and 2.7, offered similar free character selectors, aiding players in strengthening their 4-star units.
The leak, originating from prominent leaker HomDGCat, specifies the four selectable characters:
- Qingque: Quantum, Erudition
- Pela: Ice, Nihility
- Serval: Lightning, Erudition
- Asta: Fire, Harmony
While Pela and Asta remain viable support units, Qingque and Serval have been outclassed by newer DPS characters. Furthermore, all four are available for purchase in the in-game store. This selector's inclusion is notable given the recent trend towards a higher ratio of 5-star to 4-star character releases. With nearly 40 5-star characters and an anticipated influx of eight more with Amphoreus, plus a potential two from the Fate/Stay Night crossover, the disparity is significant.
The 2.0 cycle only added four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form). If this trend continues, future 4-star selectors might lack sufficient new unit options. However, Version 3.0's highly anticipated additions of The Herta and Aglaea, along with recently released redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials, offer players much to look forward to in the upcoming patch.
