"Harry Potter: Magic Awakened EOS Revealed: Spells Fail to Impress!"

NetEase's collectible card role-playing game, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened*, has announced its End of Service (EOS) in specific regions. The EOS will affect players in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, with servers set to close on October 29th, 2024. However, players in Asia and certain MENA territories can continue to enjoy the game. Originally announced in 2020 during NetEase Games' annual event and developed by Zen Studio, the game was launched in China in September 2021 and globally on June 27th, 2023, following a pre-registration phase that began in February 2022.

Why Did They Announce The EOS Of Harry Potter: Magic Awakened?

Despite its promising start, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened* failed to maintain its momentum. The game, which combined Clash Royale-style gameplay with a magical twist, initially attracted fans with its engaging card-battling mechanics and the allure of duelling as a wizard in a Hogwarts-inspired setting.

However, the game struggled to keep players engaged over time. Just over a year after its global release, it faced closure in several regions. Feedback from players on platforms like Reddit highlighted dissatisfaction with changes that seemed to favor paying players over those relying on skill. A significant point of contention was the revamped rewards system, which previously allowed skilled players to earn better rewards but was altered to slow progression for free-to-play users. These changes, along with numerous nerfs, led to a decline in player retention.

As of August 26th, *Harry Potter: Magic Awakened* has been removed from the Google Play Store in the regions affected by the EOS. Players in unaffected regions can still experience the game, immersing themselves in the life of a Hogwarts student, attending classes, uncovering secrets, and duelling other students.

Before the game's departure, fans might want to check out the upcoming SpongeBob-themed season in *Brawl Stars*, where they can enjoy a unique jellyfishing experience.
