Genshin v5.4 Rumored to Reintroduce Beloved Banner

Genshin Impact Leak Hints at Wriothesley Rerun in Version 5.4

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley's long-awaited return to Genshin Impact's Event Banners in Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release. This news comes as no surprise given the game's challenge in balancing banner schedules with its ever-expanding roster of over 90 playable characters. The limited rerun slots create an ongoing struggle for fair character representation.

Even with the introduction of the Chronicled Banner, intended to alleviate the rerun backlog, the system remains imperfect. Shenhe's extended wait time (over 600 days) before her rerun highlights this issue. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended waits between character reruns are likely to persist.

Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for a chance to obtain him. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates his return in Version 5.4. While Flying Flame's track record is mixed, the recent Spiral Abyss buffs that benefit Wriothesley's playstyle lend some credibility to the rumor.

Potential Version 5.4 Banner Composition:

The speculated Version 5.4 banners might feature Wriothesley alongside Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. The remaining 5-star spot is likely to be filled by either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a rerun in the established Archon rerun sequence. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025. However, players should approach this information cautiously, considering the source's past inconsistencies.
