Gears of War: E-Day Co-Developer People Can Fly Signs New Project With Sony, Codenamed Project Delta

People Can Fly, the studio behind Bulletstorm and co-developer of Gears of War: E-Day, has inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to develop a new game, codenamed Project Delta. Details are scarce, as the agreement described in People Can Fly's report designates Project Delta as a work-for-hire title, offering no further specifics.

This new project joins a bustling development pipeline at People Can Fly. The studio is currently juggling several other projects with similar codenames, including Project Gemini (a collaboration with Square Enix, which unfortunately saw 30 layoffs last year), Project Echo (with Krafton), Project Red (also seemingly with Sony), and the recently announced VR Project Bison—their final foray into VR development.

In a recent restructuring, People Can Fly suspended work on Project Victoria and scaled back another project, Project Bifrost. Furthermore, Project Dagger, an action-adventure title partnered with Take-Two Interactive, was cancelled earlier this year.

Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains busy, with eight known projects underway, including the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day is yet to be announced, Project Gemini, the Square Enix partnership, is currently slated for a 2026 release.
