The game director of The Blood Of Dawnwalker explained why he quit CDPR and opened his own studio

After the releases of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, not all CD Projekt RED experts remained with the company. Some, including the creators of The Blood of Dawnwalker, chose a different path.

The Blood of Dawnwalker, recently revealed, is the brainchild of Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a veteran of CD Projekt RED.

Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz explained his departure from CDPR:

I wanted to pursue something different with my friends, leading to the creation of Rebel Wolves. We share a deep passion for RPGs and their history, but believe the genre's rules can be expanded and improved upon. We developed some radical ideas. Convincing a large corporation to embrace such novel concepts, especially with new intellectual property, proved challenging. We realized that to execute our vision, we needed to establish our own studio. This approach is inherently risky, given our unconventional solutions.

Unlike larger studios, our studio prioritizes strong interpersonal relationships and collaboration. I believe a smaller team fosters better communication and facilitates a shared vision. This environment makes it easier to maintain creative passion and develop something truly unique.
