Zynga is introducing a nostalgic throwback in its game CSR Racing 2 with a special crossover celebrating the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future—the iconic 1985 film directed by Robert Zemeckis.
CSR2 Takes You Back to the Future
From today, players can collect and race the legendary DeLorean Time Machine from the original movie. While it doesn't provide performance upgrades or special powers, it's a fully functional vehicle. In addition to the car, CSR2 is launching a complete Back to the Future-themed experience.
The collaboration includes a custom in-game interface inspired by the film, a fresh storyline, and multiple events. Fans can look forward to three limited-time events centered around the DeLorean Time Machine, plus a community competition.
Zynga has also confirmed that more themed events will roll out over the coming months, ensuring this isn't just a one-off update. Currently, CSR2 is hosting trivia contests on its social media channels where participants can earn exclusive rewards—check them out here.

Sorry, No Free Trips to 1955!
Although you can't journey back to 1955 like in the film or in titles like Reverse:1999, the CSR2 and Back to the Future crossover is truly unique. The legendary gull-winged car from the movie is now drivable in the game, which is a thrilling addition for fans.
Sam Cooper, Zynga's Vice President of Games, emphasized the significance of the collaboration, describing the DeLorean Time Machine as one of the most recognizable and beloved vehicles in cinema history. He expressed excitement about letting players race the car virtually as part of the film's anniversary celebration.
