Fauna Art Update Introduces New "Friends of Fauna"

by Hazel Mar 15,2026
  • Discover the new in-game Friends of Fauna program
  • Share a photo of any animal you admire
  • One selected image becomes the featured monthly puzzle

Since its February release, The Art of Fauna has established itself as a beautifully designed and contemplative mobile puzzle game. It now brings an exciting community-focused addition: the Friends of Fauna program, available as a free feature within the app.

Here's how it works. Every month, you can submit a photograph of any animal—be it a wild species, a service animal, or a cherished pet. One standout submission is selected and transformed into the puzzle for that month. For the inaugural edition, the chosen puzzle features a Spectacled Bear, as submitted by Denis B.

Alongside this, the update introduces new app icons, each dedicated to a specific community member. Valentin’s icon is a Snow Leopard, Vidit and Benedict share a Lion, Shiven has an Orca, and Thomas is represented by a Northern Gannet.

If you're just discovering The Art of Fauna, it’s a peaceful puzzle experience blending classic wildlife illustrations with varied gameplay. You can solve each puzzle visually or by reconstructing a written description—all while discovering facts about each animal.

Every image in the puzzle collection comes from 18th- and 19th-century scientific works by naturalists like John James Audubon and John Gould, celebrating the artistry and heritage of wildlife illustration. The game also supports a meaningful cause—a percentage of every purchase contributes to global wildlife conservation.

Submit your photos for Friends of Fauna using the link below. The first 10 levels are free to play, with the remaining content available through an in-app purchase. For further details, visit the official website.
