EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter and Bug Fixes
EA Vancouver has dropped a new update for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Patch 1.18 introduces undefeated fighter Azamat Murzakanov and addresses several bugs.
The update directly addresses previous player concerns regarding roster size. Following the game's October 2023 release, EA Vancouver committed to expanding the roster, achieving 98% parity with current UFC top ten rankings through consistent content updates. This commitment continues with the addition of Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking) to the Light Heavyweight division. Three additional alter egos are also included, though the specific fighters remain undisclosed.
Beyond the roster additions, Patch 1.18 includes gameplay refinements – specifically, a reduction in the stamina cost of the muscle modifier (from x3.125 to 2.5). Bug fixes encompass incorrect translations in certain languages, a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang match result display issue, and updated portraits for Stipe and Jones reflecting recent glove updates.
This update coincides with EA Sports UFC 5's arrival on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via EA Play, starting January 14th. While other titles join the standard tier, UFC 5 will be exclusive to the Ultimate tier.
