The Yellow Orb is located in Merchantburg, a town initially marked as "???" on the map. Its name is determined by the merchant you establish there. To obtain the Yellow Orb, you must help build and expand this village.
Finding Merchantburg (???)
After obtaining the ship from the King of Portoga by delivering Black Pepper, Merchantburg's location becomes accessible. Look for its quest marker in the northeast corner of the world map (easily reached by sailing west from the coast).
Optimal Timing for Merchantburg
While orb acquisition order is flexible, establishing Merchantburg early is recommended. The town requires significant growth time before yielding the Yellow Orb. Establishing it early allows you to pursue other orbs concurrently.
Acquiring the Yellow Orb
- Hire a Merchant: Before heading to Merchantburg, visit PALS in Aliahan to recruit a new merchant. Minimize combat on your way to avoid unnecessary delays.
- Establish Merchantburg: Upon arrival, enter the single building. An old man will propose starting a town, requiring a merchant. Offer your newly hired merchant. The town will then receive its name (e.g., Christopherburg).

Merchantburg's Growth: As you acquire the Purple Orb (Orochi's Lair) and Blue Orb (Gaia's Navel), you'll receive notifications to revisit Merchantburg. The town undergoes five growth stages, each marked by a notification. The final stage involves a large club's construction. Note that on your fourth visit, your merchant may become unpopular with some townsfolk.

The Yellow Orb's Location: Visit Merchantburg at night during the fifth stage. You'll find the merchant imprisoned after a town revolt. Speak to the jailed merchant; they'll reveal the Yellow Orb's location. Return to the merchant's house; the Orb will be marked by a quest marker behind the sofa.
For most players, the Yellow Orb will likely be among the last orbs obtained. Remember to also collect the Red Orb (Pirates' Den), Green Orb (Theddon), and Silver Orb (Maw of the Necrogond/Necrogond Shrine).
