A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays spanning nearly a decade. Development began in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, but shifted focus to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, impacting resources and timelines. The initial design, codenamed "Joplin," didn't align with BioWare's live-service strategy, leading to a complete halt in development.
In 2018, the project was revived under the codename "Morrison." Years later, it was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
Despite the challenges, the wait is nearly over. Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches this fall on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready for Thedas!
