Venture Into Cloisterwood
Cloisterwood, a dense forest northwest of Driftwood on Reaper's Coast, holds the key. Once inside, use the ALT key to highlight interactive objects. You'll find Blackroots at the base of certain trees. Gather a few—one is needed per ritual, but the exact number of rituals is left unsaid to avoid spoilers.
Cloisterwood Exploration Tips
Cloisterwood offers more than just Blackroots. Explore to discover two NPCs (Hannag and Jahan) who can each grant a Source point (Jahan also advances Lohse's storyline), an undead trader (Eithne) offering a "Divine Order" side quest, and a challenging witch (Alice Alisceon) best avoided until level 15. Further exploration reveals the Wrecker's Cave and possibly a unique loremaster amulet. A thorough exploration of Cloisterwood is highly recommended on your first visit.
