Hill Troll Location in Rune Slayer
The Hill Troll lurks within a mountain cave in Bahlgar. The most accessible route begins at Lakeshire's elevator. Descend to Bahlgar as if hunting Beastmen, but instead of dropping into their area, follow the mountain wall. Pass two platinum deposits and scan the mountain's side for the cave entrance. A mounted jump into this crevice works best. While it may seem tricky initially, the route becomes intuitive with practice. Hill Troll – Strategy, Loot, and Quest
Despite its intimidating appearance, the Hill Troll ranks among Rune Slayer's easier mini-bosses. You'll probably face it repeatedly, quickly mastering its attack patterns.
Never engage solo. While its moves are telegraphed, always bring at least one ally – fortunately, many players farm this area. The Troll respawns every 90 seconds after defeat.
This foe wields a massive pillar with slow but devastating swings. Most attacks can be parried or blocked, except its two-handed overhead smash (which causes stun – run!). Warriors can often stagger the Troll using Counter attacks effectively.
While rare gear drops occasionally, focus on collecting Troll Hides and Troll Heads. The hides craft solid pre-endgame armor, ideal preparation for tougher foes like the Mother Spider.
Troll Heads serve Hodor's repeatable quest, available hourly near the cave. His random rewards sometimes include exceptionally powerful gear, making this quest worthwhile during Troll farming sessions.
Can You Tame the Hill Troll in Rune Slayer?
Taming remains impossible, even for Beast Tamer Archers. As a mini-boss, the Hill Troll's size and nature prevent domestication – it likely couldn't even exit its own cave! Beast Tamers should stick with reliable companions like the Mud Crab.
