Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following the launch of the deck-building game Zoeti, they've now unveiled The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle game, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark – both simultaneously!
Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe
The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a town where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are commonplace. The protagonists are Detective Francis McQueen and his endearing, if occasionally clueless, partner Officer Patrick Dooley.
Together, they comprise the Darkside Division, the perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Players will assist them in solving nine engaging cases, delving into the hilarious and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.
These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and tentacled horrors to uncovering carnival secrets and battling mafia zombies. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of the action!

Worth a Play?
The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles such as "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."
The game's masterful blend of humor and pixel art is a standout feature. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. Furthermore, A Fumble in the Dark can be enjoyed independently of its predecessor, also accessible on Google Play.
