First Deadlock update of 2025 is surprisingly small

Valve's back from their New Year break, and the first Deadlock patch of 2025 is here! While we anticipated a major update following the shift away from bi-weekly releases, this initial patch is surprisingly small, focusing primarily on balance adjustments for Yamato.

Yamato received a slight nerf, impacting damage scaling and reducing the attack speed bonus from Shadow Transformation's first level. Further tweaks include nerfs to Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, along with a minor rework of Alchemical Fire.

A larger, more comprehensive patch is likely on the horizon, though predicting its arrival is currently impossible. It's worth noting that Deadlock's player base has seen a recent dip, perhaps due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals. However, with a consistent 7,000-19,000 concurrent players during its deep beta phase, the game remains relatively healthy. Remember, Valve has yet to reveal any release dates or details regarding its monetization strategy.
