Idris Elba Wants a Cyberpunk 2077 Live-Action Movie With Keanu Reeves

Idris Elba, star of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, has publicly expressed his strong desire for a live-action adaptation of the popular video game, specifically one featuring himself and Keanu Reeves. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, promoting his role in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (where he also shares the screen with Reeves), Elba stated that a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action film starring both himself and Reeves would be "Whoa."

Elba's enthusiasm stems from the potential synergy between his character, Solomon Reed, and Reeves' iconic portrayal of Johnny Silverhand. The idea of a live-action reunion clearly excites him.

This isn't just wishful thinking. Variety reported in October 2023 that CD Projekt Red (CDPR) is indeed developing a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project in collaboration with Anonymous Content. While details remain scarce a year after the announcement, the success of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and The Witcher live-action series suggests a Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation is a strong possibility.
