Marvel's enduring global success, spanning film, television, and video games, is a testament to the groundbreaking work of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Steve Ditko. Sixty years ago, they launched the Marvel Universe, revolutionizing superhero storytelling and forging interconnected narratives across various comic book properties. Their innovations, particularly during the Silver Age, profoundly shaped the modern entertainment landscape.

This year, I embarked on a personal project: rereading every Marvel superhero comic from the 1960s onward, starting with the official canon. This exploration reveals the foundational elements of the Marvel Universe.

This article focuses on pivotal early Marvel comics, from the Fantastic Four's debut in 1961 to the Avengers' formation in 1963. We'll highlight key character introductions, significant plot developments, and particularly noteworthy issues. This is the first installment in our exploration of essential Marvel comics.
