The Patch 8 stress test update addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. It also ensures Gale correctly interacts with magical items. This update is only available to those participating in the stress test. Players without access will need to wait for the full Patch 8 release to experience these improvements.

Key improvements include: preserved container contents after destruction, enhanced Steam Deck Photo Mode screenshotting, more responsive character poses, improved cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and several crash fixes. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a major update, marking one of the final large content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. It includes highly anticipated features like cross-platform play, over twelve new subclasses (including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of the Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the much-requested Photo Mode.

Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the in-depth Photo Mode sneak peek video. Larian aims to empower players to fully utilize Photo Mode from day one.

Access Photo Mode virtually anywhere – during exploration, combat, or even in multiplayer (for the host). Position companions and characters, add or remove party members, and even include whimsical elements like a screen-filling frog. The free-moving camera allows for perfect shots.

Apply post-processing effects, stickers, and frames to personalize your images. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This sneak peek is just the beginning; Larian plans to release further tips and tricks videos to help players unlock their creative potential.
