Larian Studios dropped a chilling 52-second cinematic preview on Twitter (X), showcasing a truly horrifying new evil ending in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7. The focus? The Dark Urge, and the consequences of embracing pure evil.
SPOILER ALERT!
The preview depicts a grim fate for the Dark Urge's companions. They witness their leader succumb to their father's will, seizing control of the Netherbrain. This sets the stage for Bhaal's reign of terror, beginning with the tragic demise of the companions. The Dark Urge mind-controls them, forcing them to their deaths. A chilling narration accompanies the scene: "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's," before the Dark Urge suffers a similar fate.
This is just one of several new evil endings coming in Patch 7. Larian's April community update promised "improved evil endings...for even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs." The best part? These aren't limited to Dark Urge playthroughs. Previously teased endings included the Dark Urge walking on a sea of blood and corpses, and a town succumbing to "sheer mindless bliss" under The True Absolute.
What Else Awaits in Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7?
Patch 7 is a massive update, brimming with new content and improvements. Beyond the terrifying new endings, expect a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op, enhanced Honour Mode challenges, and a highly anticipated modding toolkit.
Larian Studios has confirmed this isn't the end for Baldur’s Gate 3. Crossplay and photo mode are on the roadmap, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing improvements based on community feedback.
