Atomfall: New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments' upcoming first-person survival game, Atomfall, plunges players into a chilling alternate 1960s England, devastated by nuclear fallout. A recently released gameplay trailer offers an extended look at the game's core mechanics.
Fans of titles like Fallout and STALKER will find familiar elements in Atomfall's gameplay. The trailer showcases exploration of hazardous quarantine zones, scavenging for vital resources in abandoned villages and research bunkers, and tense encounters with hostile robots and cultists.
The survival aspects are highlighted, emphasizing crafting, resource management, and combat. While the initially showcased weaponry appears relatively standard (cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), the trailer confirms weapon upgrades and hints at a broader arsenal awaiting discovery. Crafting extends beyond weapons, encompassing healing items and tactical tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector adds another layer of strategic exploration, assisting in uncovering hidden caches of supplies and crafting materials.
Further enhancing the survival experience is a skill system, categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning. Players can unlock and upgrade abilities within these categories, tailoring their character to their preferred playstyle.
Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
