The short answer is that you can do virtually everything you could before. Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts a sprawling open world filled with side content. Completing the main quest doesn't restrict access to this content, so feel free to return and fully explore and experience all that Feudal Japan has to offer post-main quest.

Additionally, new weekly challenges will be added through the Animus post-launch, providing even more activities even after achieving 100% completion.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained

Even after the credits roll, your journey might not be over. In my playthrough, the title and credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board, as well as Yasuke and Naoe’s main quests. However, I hadn't yet earned the trophy for finishing Act 3 or The Epilogue in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To unlock the epilogue and true ending, you need to finish the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Then, head back to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko. This will unlock the complete ending of Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the associated achievements.

There's also exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke, which players can earn near the game's end. These armor sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist’s playstyle, and the designs are sure to resonate with nostalgic fans of Assassin’s Creed.

As for endgame content, players can continue to progress well beyond the credits, up to the game’s max level cap.

While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, there's still much to anticipate. New content will be added through the Animus, and the store will likely receive updates with new items. Assassin’s Creed Shadows also has a story expansion, The Claws of Awaji, coming later in 2025. This DLC will introduce a new location, the Island of Awaji, and add over 10 hours of content.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
