For most users, the standard iPad (not the Air, Mini, or Pro) is the best choice. It delivers the full iOS experience with fast performance at a very accessible price. The current model launched on March 12, 2025, over two years after its predecessor from October 2022. Key upgrades include a more powerful A16 processor (vs. the A14), increased RAM (6GB vs. 4GB), and a larger 128GB base storage. Best of all, the starting price of $349 is actually lower than the previous generation's launch price of $399.

Carried-over features include the 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display (2360x1640 resolution at 264 ppi), USB-C charging, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and the same camera system. It's also compatible with the Magic Folio keyboard, turning it into a mini laptop for improved productivity—making it an excellent iPad for students—and works with the newer Apple Pencil with USB-C.

New 2025 Apple iPad Air (M3): Save $100

Amazon currently offers the 7th-generation Apple iPad Air with the M3 chip at its lowest price yet. The 11-inch model is discounted to $499, and the 13-inch model is down to $699, both after a $100 instant savings. This is the best price we've seen for this 2025 M3 model. Released in March, the 7th-gen iPad Air is the current model. The primary upgrade from the previous year's M2 model is the more powerful M3 chip.

Starting this week, Amazon has the current-generation Apple iPad Mini with the A17 Pro chip for just $399.99 after a $100 discount. Released in October 2024, the new iPad Mini offers significant improvements over the previous model, including the more powerful A17 Pro processor, double the base storage, faster Wi-Fi 6E, a USB-C port for quicker charging, and support for the newer Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Apple Intelligence.
