Boerenbridge, widely recognized in Flanders as *Chinese Pooping*, is a beloved card game where strategy meets prediction. The goal is simple yet engaging—to accurately predict the number of strokes you can secure in each game round. At the start of every round, players receive a set number of cards based on the round sequence. For instance, in the first round, each player receives one card, two in the second round, and so forth, increasing incrementally until the maximum is reached.
Players bid on the number of strokes they believe they can win, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer. The highest bidder sets the trump suit. Interestingly, the final bid must never complete the total stroke count for the round—this adds an element of intrigue and calculation to the game. For example, if the total cards dealt equal seven, the bids might total six, leaving room for strategic maneuvering.
After reaching the peak number of cards per player, the distribution reverses, reducing cards in subsequent rounds until the game concludes with each player holding a single card. The player with the most strokes accumulated across all rounds emerges victorious.
