Get ready to celebrate the start of 2025 in Pokémon GO! The annual New Year's event is back, running from December 30th, 2024 to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event features themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and a plethora of ways to ring in the new year in style. This year's event offers a fantastic bonus: catch Pokémon with Excellent Throws to earn a whopping 2,025 XP each! Immerse yourself in the celebratory atmosphere with festive decorations and fireworks illuminating the skies.
Expect increased appearances of special, festively-dressed Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat. Shiny versions of these Pokémon may also appear!
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are boosted during the event.
For quest enthusiasts, participate in Field Research and Timed Research tasks for additional Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers exclusive rewards, including three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event Pokémon.
