The "Audio Visual Lessons for Evangelism and Basic Bible Teaching" app is a comprehensive resource designed to assist in the teaching of Sunday School classes, based on materials originally published by the AIC Sunday School Committee in Juba, Southern Sudan. This app has been adapted for broader use by Global Recordings Network Australia, with the kind permission of the Africa Inland Church, Sudan. It's specifically designed to be used in conjunction with the audio visual picture books provided by Global Recordings Network, which serve as crucial visual aids to enhance the learning experience.
This app is an answer to the call for help from young teachers tasked with leading Sunday School sessions. It contains 226 Bible lessons spread across 9 books, which are derived from the Good News and Look, Listen, and Live audio visual programs produced by Global Recordings Network. These are accessible through the 5fish app, ensuring a rich and engaging learning environment.
App Features
- Access to 226 Bible lessons organized in 9 books
- Lessons based on the renowned Good News and Look, Listen, and Live programs
- Convenient title search functionality
- Detailed teacher instructions for each lesson
- Option to play English audio recordings for each lesson story
- Display of relevant pictures for each lesson story
- Offline usability (audio requires internet connection)
Each lesson in the app is designed to last approximately twenty minutes, focusing solely on the lesson component of the Sunday School session. Teachers are encouraged to plan additional activities such as singing, prayer, Bible reading, and quizzes to complement the lesson. It's recommended that each lesson concludes with a brief prayer and song that reflect the week's teachings. The lessons cater to children aged 7 to 12 years, ensuring a wide but appropriate age range for effective learning.
When initially developed, these lessons were hand-written by teachers week by week in exercise books. Consequently, they were intentionally kept concise to aid in easy preparation. While some lessons have been expanded, the focus remains on providing a brief yet comprehensive outline for teachers to develop further during their preparation time.
Each lesson features an aim at the top, guiding the teacher's focus. Due to the age of the target audience, the lessons do not attempt to convey the full breadth of God's truth in one session. Instead, they focus on one or two key truths per lesson, allowing children to gradually deepen their understanding of God. The lessons are intended as a guide for teachers, helping them to deliver the content effectively without being overly reliant on the text.
