SuperPlanet's hit mobile game, Boomerang RPG: Watch Out Dude, is celebrating a major milestone – over 1 million downloads! To mark this achievement, they've partnered with the wildly popular South Korean webcomic, The Sound of Your Heart, for a comedic crossover event.
For those unfamiliar, The Sound of Your Heart, created by Jo Seok, is a long-running webtoon featuring the creator's comedic misadventures and eccentric family. Originally launched on Naver Webtoon in 2006, it boasts over 7 billion views and even received a Netflix adaptation.
Meet the Crossover Crew:
This collaboration brings the beloved characters of The Sound of Your Heart to Boomerang RPG. Expect to see Jo Seok himself, his formidable wife Aebong (known for her less-than-gentle disciplinary methods), his lovable father-in-law Jjaeddanyo, and Buuk Suh, Jo Seok's friend who literally sheds petals when injured.
The event tasks players with rescuing Aebong, Jjaeddanyo, and Buuk Suh from a dungeon. Successfully completing town dungeons unlocks these characters as playable allies. However, be prepared for a final showdown against Dark Aebong, Aebong's fearsome alter-ego, whose animations are directly inspired by the webcomic's iconic moments of furious exasperation.
More Exciting Additions:
The crossover event offers a 21-Day Attendance Event to acquire the collab characters for free. Limited-edition boomerangs, including a drumstick, golf club, hairdryer, and stylus, are also available. A Token Event allows players to collect themed tokens (kimchi, tomato, noodles, chicken) and exchange them for unique magic effects and legendary boomerangs.
