Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game Challenge

Inside, you'll find the Lifer near a six-piece board game. The goal is to connect three of your black pieces before the Lifer connects its white pieces. Positioning a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze pathways. You can exit and re-enter the game, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for the fight, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing its buffs, as this triggers immediate combat.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP regeneration after 2 seconds of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and DMG over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking with each hit (clears after 6 seconds without dealing damage).
  • Decay of Time: Significant resistance boosts and Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant damage.

Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open gates to these rooms, each containing a Stake and a winged statue. One room requires Tacet Discord defeat, another Friable Rock destruction, and one has the Stake on a table. Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff; the purple line turns yellow upon success.

Defeating the Lifer

After removing the four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (either via the board game or the "Fight it out!" option). The significantly weakened Lifer presents minimal threat.

First victory rewards a Premium Supply Chest. Second victory adds another Premium Supply Chest and three Basic Supply Chests. Third victory grants an Advanced Supply Chest and three Standard Supply Chests. You can re-enable buffs for a harder challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.

Lifer Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all nine chests.
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.

For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves; it will eventually make a mistake.
