Stardew Valley: How To Get & Use The Crystalarium

by Claire Jan 24,2025

This guide details how to obtain and utilize the Crystalarium in Stardew Valley, a valuable tool for efficiently producing gemstones and minerals. Note that this guide reflects the functionality as of the 1.6 update.

Obtaining a Crystalarium

The Crystalarium recipe unlocks at Mining Skill Level 9. Crafting requires:

  • 99 Stone
  • 5 Gold Bars (forged from Gold Ore)
  • 2 Iridium Bars (forged from Iridium Ore)
  • 1 Battery Pack (obtained from a Lightning Rod struck by lightning)

Alternatively, you can obtain a Crystalarium by:

  • Completing the 25,000g bundle in the Community Center's Vault.
  • Donating at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum.

Using the Crystalarium

Place the Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. Popular locations include the Quarry for large-scale production.

The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds have the longest (5 days) but highest value.

To remove a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. This returns it to your inventory; any gem currently being replicated will also drop.

To change the gem being replicated, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem. The current gem will be ejected, and the new gem will begin replication.

By strategically using the Crystalarium, players can significantly increase their profits and acquire valuable gifts for Pelican Town's residents. Crystalarium Gemstone Stone Gold Bar Iridium Bar Battery Pack Crystalarium in use Quartz Diamond
