Riot Games made a notable appearance at this year's DICE Summit, where co-founder Marc Merrill shared insights into the company's future projects in an interview with Stephen Totilo. One of Merrill's primary aspirations is to launch a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game set within the expansive universe of League of Legends and Arcane. This ambitious project currently consumes much of his time, driven by his passion for the MMO genre and a belief that his dedication will contribute to its success. Additionally, he recognizes the strong desire among League of Legends fans to dive deeper into their beloved universe, which further fuels his commitment to the project.

While specific details about the MMO remain under wraps, including any potential release date, Merrill humorously expressed his hope that the game would be available before humans set foot on Mars. This light-hearted comment leaves the timeline open-ended and adds a touch of anticipation to the project's future.

In addition to the MMO, Riot Games is also developing another title within the League of Legends universe—2XKO, a fighting game eagerly anticipated by fans. Unlike the MMO, 2XKO has already generated excitement with released trailers and a confirmed release window expected before the year's end. This project showcases Riot Games' commitment to expanding their gaming portfolio and engaging their community with diverse gaming experiences.
