The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket has arrived, introducing shiny variants and over 110 new cards, making it an exciting time for collectors and players alike. Named "Shining Revelry," this expansion dazzles with new variants from the Paldea region, adding a fresh twist to the game. As soon as the update dropped, I couldn't resist using my Pack Hourglasses to open ten packs, and to my delight, I pulled a Charizard EX, although the rest of the haul was less impressive. Drawing the Pokémon Center Lady card was a small consolation; her ability to heal Special Conditions is a useful strategy against pesky status effects like Burn.
Alongside the new cards, the update brings an Emblem event, allowing players to earn stylish badges to show off to friends. The highlight, however, is the introduction of Ranked Matches. Players can now battle other Trainers, climbing from Beginner to Master Ball Rank. Points earned will be displayed, and at the end of the approximately one-month season, you'll be awarded an emblem. This feature reignites my passion for competitive play, prompting me to dust off my decks and start strategizing.
If you're eager to dive into the action, Pokémon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available.
