Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features
Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is slated for a broader release in March 2025, as announced via the company's Twitter (X) account. This expansion makes the device readily available to a wider audience, eliminating the previous requirement of a Nintendo Online membership.
Initially launched with limited availability, Alarmo quickly gained popularity, selling out in various locations, including Japan, where a lottery system was implemented to manage demand. New York City also experienced an immediate sell-out.
The expanded release will see Alarmo stocked in major retailers worldwide, including Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized retailers. The device will retail for $99.99 USD.
Key Features of Nintendo Alarmo:
Alarmo offers a unique wake-up experience, featuring charming sound effects and visuals from popular Nintendo franchises such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Currently boasting 42 selectable scenes with more to come via free updates (including Animal Crossing: New Horizons), the alarm clock engages users with interactive gameplay elements.
The alarm process itself is designed to gently rouse users. A character will appear on screen, and a gentle sound plays. If you don't get up promptly, a more insistent visitor and sound will encourage you to rise. The alarm can be silenced using a motion sensor, eliminating the need to touch the device.
Beyond its core functionality, Alarmo provides additional features:
- Hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to the selected scene.
- Sleep pattern tracking, monitoring time spent in bed and movement during sleep.
- Button mode for households with multiple occupants or pets.
The removal of the Nintendo Online membership requirement for purchase marks a significant step towards making this innovative alarm clock accessible to all Nintendo fans. Look for Alarmo in stores starting March 2025.
