Stun the Monster

Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most daunting feature, often leaving players scrambling to keep up. To counter this, stunning the monster is crucial. Look for a Flashfly in the area to temporarily stun the beast, or craft Flash Pods to shoot at it, effectively immobilizing it and giving you a window to attack or retreat.

Bring Teammates

Soloing Ebony Odogaron can be a daunting task due to its relentless pace. To improve your chances, send out an SOS signal to rally teammates. If no players join, NPCs can serve as useful distractions, drawing the monster's attention away from you and allowing you to focus on dodging and counterattacking.

Pull Down Entangled Rocks

During the battle, you may enter an area with Entangled Rocks hanging above. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the monster for a few precious seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, so time it wisely. Additionally, deploying Pitfall and Shock Traps can offer two more opportunities to immobilize the creature.

Beware of Dragonblight

Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which hampers your ability to deal elemental or status effect damage. To counteract this, carry Nulberries to cure the effect, or equip gear with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact.

Inflict Paralysis

Applying Paralysis to Ebony Odogaron can significantly ease the battle by temporarily halting its movements. If the monster is knocked down over roots, it may become further entangled, providing you with additional time to inflict damage.

Aim for the Head

The head is Ebony Odogaron's most vulnerable spot, boasting a 3-star weakness. Targeting it maximizes your damage output, though it positions you dangerously close to the monster's attacks. If you prefer a safer approach, focus on its forelegs and tail, which, while less damaging, can still yield breaks and contribute to the beast's defeat.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires reducing its health to 20 percent or below, then using a Pitfall or Shock Trap followed by a tranquilizer. If the monster's health is too high, the tranquilizer won't take effect, allowing it to break free and continue the fight.
