Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled

NetEase Games recently dropped exciting details about Marvel Rivals Season 1, including a new battle pass, maps, and a fresh game mode. Following the conclusion of Season 0, anticipation for Season 1 is high. A new developer video blog, released ahead of the January 10th, 1 AM PST launch, reveals all.

Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman Arrive!

Season 1 kicks off with the introduction of Mister Fantastic (a Duelist) and the Invisible Woman (a Strategist). Seasons will run approximately three months, with the addition of The Thing and Human Torch expected six to seven weeks into the season. The Baxter Building will also feature prominently in a new map.

New Content: Maps, Game Mode, and Battle Pass

The developer video (Volume 3 of their Dev Vision series) confirmed the arrival of new maps, a game mode, and a battle pass. The battle pass, costing 990 Lattice, offers 10 new skins and a reward of 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.

A new arcade-style game mode, "Doom Match," will debut, playable on the Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum map. This 8-12 player mode sees the top 50% declared victorious.

Marvel Rivals Unveils Three New Maps and a New Game Mode

New Maps:

  • Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum
  • Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown (for convoy missions)
  • Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park (launching in six to seven weeks)

New Game Mode:

  • Doom Match

Battle Pass Details:

  • 10 new skins
  • 600 Lattice reward
  • 600 Unit reward

While details on Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park remain scarce, the developers highlighted their commitment to player feedback. They acknowledged community concerns regarding ranged character dominance (like Hawkeye) and promised balance adjustments in the first half of Season 1. The excitement surrounding Season 1: Eternal Night Falls is palpable.
