Longvinter Exits Early Access on Steam: PC

After an intensive three-year journey in development, meticulously integrating player feedback and resolving numerous bugs, Longvinter has triumphantly emerged from early access on Steam with the launch of version 1.0. The developers have celebrated this significant milestone by introducing a series of updates that promise to revitalize the game for both new players and dedicated fans alike.

One of the most exciting additions in this update is the introduction of oil rigs scattered across the archipelago. Players can now delve into the extraction of oil, refine it into fuel, and engage in intense battles against the mercenaries from LRI, who control crucial supply lines. Complementing these new mechanics, fresh events have been incorporated into the game, such as helicopter crashes that offer opportunities to acquire tactical gear and an underground arena where players can compete for valuable rewards every hour.

The game's environment has been enriched with a variety of new wildlife, including lynxes, wolves, wolverines, foxes, moose, and goats, which players can now tame as mounts. Alongside these additions, the update brings a plethora of new items to the game, such as hats that provide buffs, combat vests, an array of weapons and explosives, new kitchen recipes, and interactive objects for building and decorating. These include oil refineries, refrigerators, microwaves, power poles, and turrets. Furthermore, significant adjustments have been made to weapon balance to enhance the gameplay experience.

Looking to the future, the eagerly anticipated 1.1 update will introduce farming mechanics, a revamped tutorial designed to assist newcomers, apartment rentals, and shared communities. Additionally, the developers have confirmed that Longvinter will extend its reach beyond PC players with a planned launch on PlayStation in 2026, promising to bring this enriched gaming experience to a broader audience.
