In *Limbus Company*, the levels of your Sinners are crucial to their combat prowess. Just like in other RPGs, you'll need to level up your team to progress through the game and tackle challenging content. Even the most powerful Sinner Identities won't fare well if they're underleveled. If you're new to the game, here's a comprehensive guide on how to efficiently gain XP for your characters.
Combat and Grinding
For new players, the primary way to earn XP is through combat. Every Sinner on your team will gain XP after successfully clearing a combat encounter, regardless of their participation in the fight. However, Sinners who actively fought will earn more XP than those who didn't. While this method is straightforward, it can be slow, especially as battles become tougher. To accelerate your progress, you'll need more efficient strategies.
Once you reach the midpoint of Canto 2, you'll unlock the Luxcavation mode. This mode allows you to challenge specific enemies and earn various rewards. The fights themselves provide a decent amount of XP, but the real advantage lies in the consumable items you can obtain, which are invaluable for leveling up your Sinners.
Using Consumable Items
If grinding manually isn't your style, you can utilize Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets to level up your Sinners' Identities more efficiently. These consumable items are designed specifically for character leveling and come in various rarities.
Identity Training Tickets
Identity Training Tickets provide a flat amount of XP to an Identity. They serve as the equivalent of level-up materials found in other gacha games like *Honkai Star Rail* or *Genshin Impact*. While they significantly reduce the XP grind, you'll need a substantial number to max out a single character. These tickets come in four tiers, each offering increasing amounts of XP:
- Identity Training Ticket I: 50 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket II: 200 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket III: 1000 Identity XP
- Identity Training Ticket IV: 3000 Identity XP
You can primarily obtain these tickets by farming the EXP Luxcavation stages. They're also available through the free and paid Limbus Passes and periodic attendance check events.
Level Boost Tickets
Level Boost Tickets bypass the need for XP and instantly elevate your Sinners' Identities to a specified level. These tickets are highly valuable due to their ability to shortcut the leveling process, but they are also much rarer. You can obtain them mainly through the Limbus Pass, with occasional availability during attendance check events. Unlike training tickets, these cannot be farmed. The different levels of Level Boost Tickets will raise your characters to the following levels:
- Level Boost Ticket I: Level 10
- Level Boost Ticket II: Level 20
- Level Boost Ticket III: Level 30
- Level Boost Ticket IV: Level 40
Currently, Identities can reach a maximum level of 50. To level up multiple characters efficiently, it's wise to balance the use of Level Boost Tickets and Identity Training Tickets.
To use these consumables, navigate to the Sinners menu and long-press the portrait of the character you wish to level up.
