Warhorse Studios has just released a substantial free update for *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* with version 1.2, bringing two major features to the game: native mod integration via Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system.
The integration with Steam Workshop streamlines the process of finding and installing mods directly within the game, bypassing the need for external platforms. This new feature hinges on mod creators uploading their creations to Steam Workshop. Currently, the available mods are limited but include some intriguing options:
- Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item each time it's used or lost, allowing unlimited saves.
- Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a historically inspired horned helmet to the game.
- Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, opening up previously restricted story locations.
- Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra, complete with a unique visual effect.
Although the selection is small at the moment, the modding community is poised to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to start sharing their work on both platforms. While Steam Workshop might not match the scale of Nexus Mods, it’s expected that popular mods will soon be available there.

On top of mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to customize their hairstyle or beard. Visiting a barber not only changes your look but also temporarily enhances your protagonist's Charisma stat.
Update 1.2 brings much more to the table, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every aspect of the game. These updates include balancing tweaks, refined animations, and more realistic NPC behaviors. The crime system, for instance, has been fine-tuned for better accuracy.
Other significant enhancements include:
- Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing realism.
- Improved horse riding mechanics and trading systems.
- Better character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the game's largest city, and during large-scale battles.
Warhorse Studios is set to provide more insight into these changes during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio is dedicated to ongoing support for the game, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for release in spring, summer, and winter.
With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, *Kingdom Come: Deliverance II* continues to develop, delivering an ever-richer medieval experience to its players.
