Metro Quester – Hack & Slash, a fresh dungeon exploring RPG, has just launched on Android, offering a unique twist on the traditional KEMCO title. While it maintains the essence of a turn-based JRPG, it dives deeper into the realm of gritty, old-school dungeon crawling.
Seek the Truth of a Lost World
In Metro Quester – Hack & Slash, you lead a team of scavengers navigating underground ruins to gather resources before your weekly food quota of 100 runs out. Every seven in-game days, you must collect enough food to survive. Your journey takes you through monster-infested areas like Otemachi and Ginza, where you search for leftovers and other valuables. Importantly, you can only level up back at a safe camp, provided you've survived and gathered sufficient resources.
The game features a diverse roster of 24 characters, each belonging to one of eight classes. You have the freedom to customize your team's combo skills, weapons, and strategies. Each ability consumes action points, with a limit of five points per turn and one use per ability each round, making strategic planning crucial.
As you explore the dungeon, it unfolds in real-time, revealing hidden food supplies, monster nests, keys to new areas, and potential campgrounds for setting up a new base.
Metro Quester – Hack & Slash Is Now Out on Android
The visual style of Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is deliberately minimalistic, with a bleak and colorless environment that starkly contrasts with your vividly detailed team. You can get a glimpse of this unique aesthetic in the official trailer below.
For those who crave more after the main storyline, the game offers a NEW GAME+ mode, perfect for those who enjoy replaying with increased difficulty.
Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is available on Android for $14.99. Note that it does not support game controllers and is available in English and Japanese only. You can download it from the Google Play Store.
